Pieter Poortvliet has been with Crossminds since 2008. Before that, he spent 13 years as a manager in audit practices at one of the major accounting firms, where he worked in both the private and public (not-for-profit) sectors. At Crossminds, he focuses on transaction and valuation services.
Pieter studied accountancy at Nyenrode Business University and pursued further education at Erasmus University and Leiden University. In Rotterdam, he completed a post-graduate program in business valuation, and in Leiden, he specialized as a court expert. With this expertise, he supports entrepreneurs in mergers, acquisitions, and valuations, gaining significant experience in these areas since joining Crossminds.
“What really motivates me is helping entrepreneurs move forward,” Pieter says. “I work across a broad range of industries, which brings great variety to my work. The dynamic nature of a deal and the excitement when everything falls into place give me a lot of energy.”
Pieter is especially active in transactions, including (vendor) due diligence, valuations, and financing matters. His background also makes him a frequent expert in dispute resolution, serving as a court-appointed expert for courts, appeals courts, and the Enterprise Chamber, or as an arbitrator in disputes.
