As part of financing for recreational real estate, Crossminds conducted a due diligence investigation on behalf of ZIB Investments into the financial position of Plaza Resort Bonaire B.V. and Van der Valk International B.V.

Plaza Resort Bonaire

Plaza Resort Bonaire B.V. operates the Van der Valk Plaza Beach & Dive Resort Bonaire, a luxury vacation resort with over 100 rooms on the Caribbean island of Bonaire. The resort is situated in a lagoon directly on one of the island’s most beautiful beaches and includes multiple restaurants and bars, a private beach, a pool, and a casino.
Van der Valk Plaza Beach & Dive Resort Bonaire is one of the few all-inclusive resorts on the island. Due to the growing tourism on Bonaire, the Van der Valk family decided several years ago to renovate, upgrade, and expand the Van der Valk Plaza Beach & Dive Resort Bonaire. Currently, six new apartment buildings, including associated infrastructure and a pool, are under construction at the resort, for which financing is being provided.

Van der Valk International

Van der Valk International B.V. is the Dutch parent company of the Nuland branch of the Van der Valk family and a shareholder of Plaza Resort Bonaire B.V. The hotels owned by Van der Valk International B.V. are located in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Bonaire. In 2021, Van der Valk International B.V. opened two new hotels (in Ghent and Noordwijk), with several more under construction.
