Crossminds assisted Shypple with the acquisition, carrying out due diligence on the financial and tax aspects of Milestone Group.

Shypple

Founded in 2016 by Jarell Habets, Shypple is a rapidly growing digital freight forwarder based in the Netherlands. Shypple offers a digital platform that simplifies the booking of containers and enables the management of the entire end-to-end supply chain through one centralized system. In 2019, Shypple was awarded ‘Sprout Start-up of the Year’ and was recognized by the renowned American magazine Wired as one of the Top 100 European Startups to Watch. Shypple has demonstrated the potential to transform the traditional freight forwarding industry through its digital business model. Since 2018, Shypple has doubled its revenue year-over-year. It is backed by investors such as Dutch Founders Fund, Newtown Partners, Innovation Quarter, BOM Brabant Ventures, and other private investors.

Milestone Group

Milestone Group has grown into a well-known freight forwarding company with extensive expertise in temperature-controlled transportation (mainly imports from Central America) and container shipping (primarily imports from Asia). Milestone Group B.V. is a diversified company involved in import and export activities via air and sea. The company benefits from strong client relationships and is known for offering high-quality services at competitive rates.

With the acquisition, Shypple expands its presence in Europe, Asia, and Central America. Milestone’s clients will now be able to take advantage of Shypple’s digital platform. This move makes Shypple the first digital forwarder in the perishables sector.
